seasons at the inn
Every season at the Nature Inn offers unique opportunities to connect with the natural resources and recreational activities available at Bald Eagle State Park. While some folks prefer the relaxing weekdays of fall and winter, others find excitement in the action-packed days of summer. During the spring, exceptional birding and fishing opportunities attract outdoors enthusiasts from across the northeast.
A Sanctuary For Birds, And Their Guests
Throughout the inn, one theme resonates above all others – way above. From the bird tracks leading you to our front lobby, to the Audubon and Ned Smith prints in each room, to the stationary binoculars waiting on the deck, you’ll discover that the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle State Park is truly a place for the birds. And we’re especially proud of one of our nesting pair of bald eagles just behind the inn in Hunter Cove. If you’re a birder, you’ve found the perfect place. If you aren’t, we think you’ll find it’s still quite perfect here.
local art by local artisans
Throughout the inn’s rooms and common areas, regionally created handiwork and crafts abound, including an impressive stained glass mural, fireplace mantel and tools, wooden mirrors, and ceramic tiles. In honor of the park’s reputation as a prime birding destination, the inn features illustrated prints by both John James Audubon, the renowned 19th-century ornithologist, naturalist and artist, and Pennsylvania’s own 20th century artist and naturalist, Ned Smith.
