You’re Curious. Good. You’ve Come To The Right Place
Q: What about meals?
Your stay at the Nature Inn includes a hearty, hot breakfast each day. Complimentary coffee is available throughout the day. We are also pleased to offer a complete box lunch menu that is simple, affordable and can be prepared to meet your needs, schedule and preferences.
Q: We're traveling with a pet, are they welcome?
With the exception of certain service animals, the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle is a pet-free facility. We can direct you to local boarding facilities if you’re traveling with a pet when visiting the Nature Inn. Or, if you prefer, there are several pet-friendly campsites elsewhere within the park. Q: Is alcohol available or served at the Nature Inn?
The Nature Inn does not sell alcohol. While State Parks prohibit the consumption of alcohol within Park boundaries, the Nature Inn offers an exception, allowing guests to consume alcohol exclusively on premise while at the Inn. For private events being held at the Nature Inn, guests may apply through the Park office for a special use permit.
Q: Is smoking allowed at the Inn?
For the comfort of all our guests, the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle is a smoke-free facility.
Q: The guestrooms are all named after birds, why? Birding is one of the central attractions of Bald Eagle State Park and our naming choices reflect that. Each of the birds listed can be found within the Park boundaries at some point during the year. Be sure to check out our bird tracker kiosk and register any sightings that you make while visiting.
Q: Why LEED and what is it?
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
The Nature Inn at Bald Eagle has incorporated enough green practices to earn it a prestigious Gold LEED rating, which is currently pending.
Q: Is the Inn available for meetings? Weddings? Other events?
The Inn welcomes your meeting, gathering, wedding, reunion and other special events. We will work with you to tailor an event to suit your needs. Please contact the innkeeper to discuss details.
Q: Are catering services available?
Yes, our Innkeeper and staff bring years of experience in planning and executing the perfect event for our guests.
Q: Do I need to bring anything to the Inn for my stay?
Unlike other state park overnight facilities, the Inn offers full service functions as you would find at a reputable bed and breakfast. We only suggest that you bring a desire to have a good time exploring the outdoors.
Q: How can I learn more about some of the green practices found at the Inn?
One of the best resources for citizen conservation information is DCNR’s iConservePA program. Visit www.iConservePA.org for tips and ideas to incorporate green practices into your daily lifestyle.
